PROTO SAMPLE

Proto means first. It is the very initial sample made in the sampling process. This sample is developed for checking the design and style. As the actual fabric and trims will not be available in the very initial stage, substitute fabric and trims can be used for making the sample.

Fit Sample

FIT SAMPLE

The main purpose of fit sample is to check the fit and construction of the garment. The buyer checks the fit on live or dummy models. The sample is sent in M size for Men's' and S size for women's garment.

SALESMAN / MARKETING / SHOWROOM SAMPLE

As the name suggests, this sample is used to showcase in the various retail stores and showrooms to get the orders to the buyer. Actual fabric and trims are used for the development of this sample.

GPT (GARMENTS PERFORMANCE TEST) SAMPLE

The main purpose of GPT is to perform the physical and chemical testing on the garment to ensure the performance of the garment. The tests done on garments are Shrinkage, Color Fastness, Seam performance, etc. Garments for GPT samples can be done along with Size Set sample.

Size Fit Sample

SIZE SET SAMPLE

After the fit sample has been approved, the base pattern for each size need to be graded, so samples could be created for the entire size range. Size set sampling includes three samples of each size which are made with the fabric and finishing intended for the final product. After this is complete, mass production can start once the brand gives their approval to the factories.

PRE – PRODUCTION / GREEN TAG / SILVER / GOLD SEAL SAMPLE

This is the ultimate sample after approval of which the production activity begins. This is the standard for the bulk production, and based on this the bulk production samples are made. The factory can start bulk production only after the PP sample is approved.

PILOT RUN SAMPLE

A pilot run is a sampling process on a larger scale in the garment industry. A test sampling process between the Pre-production meeting and Bulk production. The production of pilot run quantity is added to the bulk amount if it meets customer specifications. Pilot run evaluation gives green signal bulk production.

TOP OF PRODUCTION (TOP) SAMPLE

Top of Production (TOP) samples are the first items off the production line that are checked for quality control. The reason for sampling at this late stage is to ensure that large-scale, mass production is setup in line with the original product vision and specifications.

SHIPMENT / WAREHOUSE SAMPLE

Shipment / Warehouse sample is kept by the buyer as well as by the factory for future reference if any complaint is raised by a customer regarding deviation of the product design and product detailing in the sold garment.
